Assignment 2: Memo (15% of final grade)

Identify a problem or issue either throughout the five boroughs of New York City that you think could be improved, or explore something that could be a positive addition. You are free to choose your neighborhood, or elsewhere in the city. This memo will describe and discuss the problem, issue or innovation you choose to explore, and include a recommendation for how the issue might be addressed or where one might start working towards getting the innovation implemented. For a model of what a memo can look like, see the sample memo on pages 372-374 of Technical Communication.

Ideally, assignment 2 will tie in with assignment 3, the lab report, and with assignment 4, the engineering proposal.

Length: Approx. one page.

Format: reasonable font, margins, and spacing.
